Urinating in the wrong places
There are several reasons for urinating in the wrong places:
Inflammation of the bladder due to bacteria or crystals
Idiopathic, i.e. the cause is unknown, mostly associated with stress.
Cats are stressed by moving, repairs, contact with strange animals,
not getting along with other family members and/or animals.
Incontinence
“Squirting” if the animal is not spayed/castrated
Behavioral (morbid (CNS diseases/problems and/or psychological).
Other internal diseases
Reason for urination
The most common cause of urinating in the wrong places is bacterial cystitis. With these points in mind, it is important to consult a veterinarian.
There are some widespread beliefs that at such moments the animal must be punished, for example, when the nose is pushed into the urine. It is a myth that makes the problem worse.
To confirm the diagnosis, the veterinarian performs a clinical examination of the cat and conducts tests (urine sample and, if necessary, blood sample).
